The AID5 is a powerful and comprehensive Wi-Fi Test solution supporting 802.11 a/b/g/n networks and both 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequency spectrums. This tester is a real time saver for engineers involved in supporting Wireless networks. Fixing Wi-Fi problems can be done very quickly due to capabilities such as the Channel Mapper, Signal Strength Histogram, rapid listing of all Access Points, Rogue Access Point Tracker etc. The much liked Auto Test feature that is present on all the AID5 product range makes easy work of testing Wi-Fi networks. The Auto generated test report is stored in PDF format for easy review and comparison against previous site visits.
Access Points Test
The Access Points Test, reports all available Access Points including any Rogue APs it provides a network overview of
- SSID
- Channel
- Signal Strength
- Signal Quality
- Security
- Mode ( Master / Ad hoc etc.)
- Type ( a/b/g/n etc.)
- MAC address of the AP
From the Access Point Test, the engineer can connect to a selected access point and using the HTTP Test, perform a HTTP speed test and web browse to a favourite test page.
Channels Test
Understanding the spectrum usage is an essential part of troubleshooting a Wi-Fi Network. The Channels test provides real time scanning of the Channel Usage in both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz spectrum

Wi-fi Spectrum usage is constantly changing and it can be hard to pin point why performance is suddenly degraded.
Using the AID5 Histogram feature you can monitor the signal strength, signal quality and noise levels against time. Whilst the real time view might be OK for on the spot analysis, the history mode allows you to save up to 24 hours worth of spectrum data and still zoom in to detail captured every 5 seconds.
AutoTest
The configurable automatic QuickTest script allows the operator to perform testing of Wi-Fi services in a repeatable and understandable way with clear Pass / Fail indications
Test Reports
Test Reports are automatically stored at completion of the Auto Test. These Reports are stored in PDF format for easy file management and viewing. These reports can be emailed to a central location or copied onto a USB memory stick according to the operators requirements.
