The SL51 is hardware that can be purchased to aid the Sound Lab Polar ETC software. This kit includes a mic stand and a positioning arm to point to the source of reflections. The SL51 provides Frequency, Phase, ETC and then post processes all of the data to determine the direction of origin for the individual reflections from the ETC. It does this by post processing data from six measurements (front, right, rear, left, up and down). The display then has a spherical presentation with the point of origin, and a text message of the direction of origin on both axis. Replace the cardioid mic with the laser, dial up the coordinates, and the laser is now pointed at the direction of origin for the offending reflection. Apply acoustical material, and move on to next problem. There are of course many other uses. Can only be used with TE systems and TE kits.
